The end of our scenic drive yesterday brought my favorite part of the day. Multnomah Falls is the second tallest waterfall in the United States (behind Yosemite). We hiked up well above the halfway point, but the kids didn't quite want to do the whole mile up to the top. We ended the day much better than the previous night in a state campground near Columbia River.

I have to admit (Miss Zoe Jones) that I am really jealous that you get to see waterfalls and landmarks and hike mountains and see Cooper - stuff that we don't do in Anchorage. (Though mom says we do actually do those things). But then again, I'm happy that you get to have your own unique adventure.

PS - Mom was typing while I dictated to her.
Looks like you guys are having a great time. Unfortunately, I think this blogging thing is messing up the universe - Alaska must still think you're here because the weather has turned rather ugly in the last week or so. Lots of wind, no real sunshine, and we're all watching soccer games and practices huddled together in our winter gear. Fun, fun, fun.
Glad you got to see Uncle Jason while you were in Seattle. We're heading down there in two more weeks.
Enjoy your trip!
Love, Kendra
What a beautiful trip you're having! Enjoy every minute. You all deserve it! This is so much fun getting to follow you along the way. I also enjoyed talking to you Sunday of course! It's always great to hear your voice.
That day we talked turned out to be quite interesting. Our friend Rita (84 years old) is usually driving, but she came with her son and family that day. She brought some wine and drank it like beer. Marni and Lori came over later in the day. It ended up taking Tracy, Marni, and Rita's son to get her to the car. They ended up bringing a rolling chair out of the office to roll her in. It was quite a show as she sang us gospel music, etc. She of course was mortified and doesn't remember any of it, but we sure had some laughs.
Your pictures are great, and I don't think we're even going to know the kids! They've both grown like weeds!
Lots more fun ahead for you, and then we'll be SEEING YOU SOON!!! Be very careful, and get to us safely!
Much love,
Mom (Gran)
Thanks for all of the comments!
Merrill, we hope soccer is going well for you and Mark also if he's playing this summer! Your mom is right that Alaska really is the best place to hike-way fewer people, and still the most beautiful place on Earth! We've been taking some gorgeous drives, but Zach says that Cook Inlet is still the best! Uncle Jason is really looking forward to your visit!
Kendra,
Sorry that the blog has upset the balance of the universe! If it makes you feel any better, the rain found us as well!
Mom,
That does sound like quite the humorous episode last weekend! I can just picture Tracy pushing her in the office chair!
